How to Reduce Lag and Improve FPS in Minecraft Bedrock
Minecraft Bedrock can slow down because of demanding video settings, crowded worlds, outdated software, background apps, or resource-heavy packs. This guide explains safe changes for Windows, Android and iOS without deleting your worlds.
1. Check updates and device requirements
Install current Minecraft Bedrock updates, operating-system updates and graphics drivers. On Windows, confirm that the PC meets the official requirements. Restart the device after updating so pending changes take effect.

2. Lower the settings that affect performance most
- Reduce Render Distance gradually until movement becomes stable.
- Turn off Fancy Graphics, Beautiful Skies, Render Clouds and extra visual effects if available.
- Limit the frame rate to a stable value your device can maintain.
- If Vibrant Visuals is enabled, choose a performance-focused mode or return to the standard renderer.
3. Test without packs and addons
Create a temporary world with no resource packs, behavior packs or Marketplace content. If the test world runs well, re-enable content one pack at a time. High-resolution textures, large scripts and several active packs can add memory and CPU load.
4. Reduce world-side lag
Large animal farms, item piles, hoppers, redstone clocks and dense villages can slow simulation. Collect loose items, stop clocks that are not needed, divide huge farms into smaller areas and avoid keeping too many entities loaded at once.
5. Free system resources
Close browsers, recorders and overlays before launching Minecraft. Keep free storage available and avoid battery-saving modes that limit performance. Mobile devices may throttle when hot, so let the device cool and remove demanding background apps.
Troubleshooting
Only one world lags
The cause is probably inside that world. Move away from dense farms or redstone, check active packs, and test a copied backup.
Every world lags after an update
Restart the device, check for a newer hotfix and test default settings. Do not delete a world while diagnosing performance.
Multiplayer feels delayed but FPS is stable
That points to network latency. Use a stable connection, pause downloads and compare a local world with the same settings.
