Protect your tamed pets from attacks, accidents and environmental damage in Minecraft Bedrock.
Do you hate losing a wolf, cat, parrot or mount after taking it on an adventure? Keep Pets Safe detects tamed entities before they receive damage and cancels that damage, letting your companions stay with you through survival journeys, Realm sessions and adventure maps.
🆕 Keep Pets Safe V1.0
The first release focuses on reliable protection from the common dangers that kill pets during normal gameplay. When an entity is recognized as tamed, incoming damage is cancelled before it reduces the pet’s health.
Melee attacks and projectiles
Explosion-related damage
Fire and lava
Falls, drowning and freezing
🐶 How does it work?
The addon watches for an entity that is about to take damage. If Minecraft reports that entity as tamed, the event is cancelled. There are no commands or special protection items to manage after installation.
Examples of supported pets
- Tamed wolves
- Tamed cats
- Parrots
- Horses and other tameable mounts
- Other entities that use Minecraft’s standard tameable or tamed components
Protection depends on the entity being detected as tamed. Untamed animals, hostile creatures and entities that use an unrelated custom taming system are not automatically treated as protected pets.
✅ Why use this addon?
- Prevents accidental pet deaths during exploration and combat.
- Makes wolves and other companions safer in survival worlds.
- Works well for Realms, multiplayer sessions and family worlds.

- Requires no commands or per-pet setup.
- Uses Script API without replacing vanilla player files.
🧪 How to test the protection
- Create a copy of your world for testing.
- Tame a wolf or cat normally.
- Try controlled melee and projectile damage.
- Test fire, lava, fall damage or a small explosion in a safe area.
- Confirm that the tamed pet stays alive and its health does not decrease.
