A Minecraft Bedrock Realm keeps automatic and manual backups that can help after accidental destruction, unwanted changes or certain world problems. Restoring one returns the entire Realm world to the moment captured in that save, including builds, inventories and other progress.

How to restore a Bedrock Realm backup
- Launch Minecraft and select Play.
- Open the Realms tab.
- Select the Realms Hub for the Realm you need to repair.
- Open the World tab.
- Choose Manual or Automatic, depending on the backup you want.
- Find the correct save by its date and time.
- Select the three-dot menu beside that save.
- Choose Restore save and complete the confirmation shown by Minecraft.
What the restore changes
The selected backup replaces the active state of that Realm world. Anything created after the backup time can disappear: builds, mined resources, inventory changes and player progress. The process affects the whole world rather than a single player or chunk.
Download a safety copy first
- Open the Realm in the Realms Hub.
- Select the World tab and then Slots.
- Open the three-dot menu beside the active world.
- Select Download World.
- Wait for the download to finish and confirm the copy appears under All Worlds.
The downloaded copy is stored locally and can be opened independently. Keep it until you have verified that the restored Realm contains the correct version of your builds.
Common problems and solutions
The backup you need is missing
Check both the Manual and Automatic tabs and compare timestamps carefully. If the save is not listed, Minecraft cannot reconstruct changes that were never captured. A downloaded local copy may be the only remaining option.
Restore or download fails
Close Minecraft completely, confirm the game is updated, restart the device and retry on a stable connection. Mojang also recommends keeping the source and destination devices on the latest version when transferring worlds through Realms.
Players see old or inconsistent progress
Ask all members to leave before restoring and rejoin only after it completes. Because the whole world is rolled back, players should expect their inventory and position to match the chosen save.
The downloaded copy does not appear
Return to the All Worlds tab and look for a copy of the Realm world. Ensure the device has enough storage and that the download reached its completion message before closing Minecraft.
