Make caves more dangerous and explore them safely with a gas mask.

GasMask Addon makes cave exploration more difficult by adding negative effects while underground. To explore properly, you will need to craft and wear a gas mask.

Newer updates add Iron, Diamond, and Netherite masks, enchantment and TRIMS compatibility, mask usage over time in caves, and custom green fog when entering very deep cave areas.

The original description says the addon is based on a Java mod and is designed to make cave exploration more challenging.

😷 How It Works

Once added to your world, caves become very dangerous and almost impossible to traverse without protection.

The gas mask allows you to explore caves without suffering the new negative effects.

🛠️ Step 1: Craft the First Item

To get started, you must first craft the following item.

🧰 Step 2: Craft the Filters

The next important item is the filters. The original description says these are made in the following way and will be very important later.

🎭 Step 3: Craft the Gas Mask

Once you have the filters, you can craft the gas mask.

The gas mask helps avoid the poison and nausea effects received when entering caves from depth 44.

☠️ Entering Caves Without a Mask

If you enter a cave without a gas mask, you will receive harmful effects. The original text specifically mentions nausea and another harmful effect described as "vain", and it also states that it can kill you.

With the gas mask equipped, you can move through caves much more easily without worrying about the negative effects caused from layer 44 onward.
