🐉 System Wyverns – Minecraft Bedrock
Hostile wyverns, taming, special items, shields, wings, bows, and multiple attack types.
System Wyverns adds a wide variety of hostile wyverns to the survival world. They can be tamed while they are babies and use three attack types.
The source later describes a total of six types of wyverns, with different spawning locations, situations, and some distinctive characteristics.
🆕 Update V2.8 – Wyvern Shields
This update added 6 Wyvern Shields, one for each Wyvern variant. Their effects are applied to enemies when those enemies hit the shield.
Each shield has 600 durability and can be repaired in an Anvil using the scales of the corresponding Wyvern type.
The shields are crafted at a Crafting Table. The Wyvern scales used vary depending on the shield type.
🔥 Fire Wyvern Shield
Mobs that hit the shield are burned.
❄️ Ice Wyvern Shield
Applies Slowness V to mobs that hit the shield.
☠️ Poison Wyvern Shield
Applies poison to mobs that hit the shield.
🌀 Ender Wyvern Shield
Teleports mobs that hit the shield 10 blocks upward.
🖤 Wither Wyvern Shield
Applies the Wither effect to mobs that hit the shield.
🪨 Ground Wyvern Shield
Deals a total of 5 damage to the mob that hit the shield.
🆕 Update V2.7 – Wyvern Wings
Wyvern Wings were added as a new equippable item that allows the player to fly through the air like a Wyvern.
The wings have 500 durability. To fly, jump while the item is equipped in the second hand.
🧱 Crafting Wyvern Wings
The source shows a crafting process used to obtain Wyvern Wings according to the desired type.
🤚 Using Wyvern Wings
Place the Wyvern Wings in the second hand to use them and display them on the player.
An actionbar prompt shows how to activate and deactivate the wings and indicates their current state.
To fly, activate the wings and press jump. Flight direction follows the player's gaze.
🏹 Wyvern Bows
Update V2.6 – Extra Wyvern Bows
This update added the Ice Wyvern Bow, Wither Wyvern Bow, Ground Wyvern Bow, and Poison Wyvern Bow.
Each bow applies different potion effects when firing its respective arrow.
🔥 Update V2.5 – Fire Wyvern Bow
The Fire Wyvern Bow burns enemies when they are hit by an arrow. It is also compatible with bow enchantments.
The bow is crafted using parts of the Fire Wyvern.
The source says the bow requires the item written there as "ire wyvern arrow", which can also be crafted.
🦴 Bone Wyvern Bow
The Bone Wyvern Bow deals 15 ranged damage, has more durability because it is made with Wyvern bones, and is compatible with bow enchantments.
It requires the Bone Wyvern Arrow, crafted with Wyvern Bone.
🆕 Update V2.3 – New Items
🍖 Wyvern Flesh
Killing a Wyvern gives Wyvern Meat. Raw Wyvern Meat restores 2.5 thighs, while cooked Wyvern Meat restores 6 thighs.
The source states that 4 to 12 pieces of Wyvern Meat can be obtained each time a Wyvern is killed.
🦅 Wyvern Claws
Wyvern Claws increase a Wyvern's attack damage by 4.
To activate the item, place it in the third slot of the Wyvern's inventory.
Wyvern Claws can be obtained by killing Wyverns, with a 30% chance of dropping.
📦 Wyvern Chest Mechanic
Place a chest in the Wyvern's second inventory slot to unlock 9 storage slots.
⚔️ Wyvern Attacks
The addon uses three main attack types for Wyverns.
🗡️ Melee Attack
The Wyvern commonly begins combat in melee mode. A direct hit without protection deals 4 hearts of damage.
🎯 Ranged Attack
The Wyvern launches a projectile with a secondary effect based on the Wyvern type, such as poison, slowness, or fire.
This mode normally activates when the player is at least 8 blocks away.
🪽 Fly Attack
The Wyvern rises into the sky and periodically comes down to strike the player. The source says it normally changes to this strategy after receiving many hits while in melee mode.
🧰 Wyvern Mount & Taming
🪑 Wyvern Mount
A Wyvern mount was added, replacing the normal mount used in previous versions.
The source says a new item called Wyvern Bone can be obtained from Skeleton Wyverns found throughout the world and is required to craft the new Wyvern mount.

A new item was added to help tame Wyverns, crafted as shown below.

The addon does not use player.json, allowing it to be used
with almost any other addon.
