❤️ Health & Vitality Progression
The main health-upgrade item is the Life Heart. Using one increases your maximum health.
By default, each Life Heart adds 2 hearts.
World operators can configure the maximum total health, with the current system allowing limits of up to 100 total hearts.
Tier progression can be enabled so players must advance through the world before they can continue increasing their maximum health.
| Tier | How to Unlock |
|---|---|
| Tier I — Overworld | Starting tier |
| Tier II — Nether | Use a Nether Life Core |
| Tier III — Ascendant | Use an Ascendant Life Core |
| Tier IV — End | Use an End Life Core |
Tiers must be unlocked in order. A higher-tier core can be kept if obtained early, but it cannot be used until the previous tier has been unlocked.
🔮 Vitality Altar
The Vitality Altar is the main block used to craft important Life Increase progression items.
The altar is crafted using:
- Amethyst Shards
- Life Fragments
- Gold Ingots
- Crying Obsidian
The altar can craft:
- ❤️ Life Heart
- 🖤 Empty Heart
- 🔥 Nether Life Core
By default, a Life Heart costs 9 Life Fragments, but the world operator can change this cost.
💎 Life Ore & Life Fragments
Life Ore generates underground in the Overworld and comes in two versions:
- Life Ore
- Deepslate Life Ore
Breaking Life Ore with a valid pickaxe gives Life Fragments. By default, Life Ore requires an iron pickaxe or better.
✨ Fortune & Silk Touch
- Fortune increases the amount of Life Fragments.
- Silk Touch makes the ore drop itself instead of fragments.
⚙️ Fragment Yield
Operators can change the average fragment yield without changing ore generation.
- Very Low
- Low
- Normal
- High
🧪 Life Essence
Life Essence is an adventure material used by the progression system.
You can obtain it from:
- Hostile mob drops
- Special mobs with improved chances
- Repeatable challenges
- Nether and End exploration rewards
Most hostile mobs use a configurable base chance to drop Life Essence.
Some stronger mobs have their own special chances:
- Blaze
- Piglin Brute
- Ravager
- Evoker
- Elder Guardian
- Warden
- Wither
- Ender Dragon
🏆 Repeatable Challenges
Challenges are tracked automatically while you play when the world setting is enabled. There is no separate challenge acceptance step.
⛏️ Miner Challenge
Mine 25 valid Life Ores to receive 2 Life Essence.
The challenge starts again after completion.
⚔️ Warrior Challenge
Defeat 100 valid hostile mobs to receive 4 Life Fragments.
The challenge starts again after completion.
Challenge progress can be checked from the Challenges section of the Life Increase Guide.
🌍 Exploration Rewards
Dimension exploration can also reward Life Essence:
- First visit to the Nether — 1 Life Essence
- First visit to The End — 2 Life Essence
World operators can enable or disable these rewards.
🧟 Boss Progression
☠️ Wither & Warden — Tier III
Defeating the Wither or Warden can reward an Ascendant Life Core.
The Ascendant Life Core unlocks Tier III.
🐉 Ender Dragon — Tier IV
Defeating the Ender Dragon can reward an End Life Core.
The End Life Core unlocks Tier IV, the final vanilla progression tier.
Boss rewards are shared with eligible nearby players, making the system better suited for multiplayer.
🧩 Custom Boss Rewards
Operators can register custom bosses from other addons and choose exactly which progression core each boss rewards.
Each custom boss can give one specific reward:
- Tier II — Nether Life Core
- Tier III — Ascendant Life Core
- Tier IV — End Life Core
Custom bosses do not automatically choose their own tier. The operator decides exactly what each registered boss gives.
